چکیده
Abstract. Boreal forests are particularly vulnerable to climate warming, which increases the occurrence of natural disturbances, such as fires and insect outbreaks. It is therefore essential better understand climate-induced changes in boreal vegetation dynamics. This requires accurate estimates variations biomass across regions time. remains challenging extensive larch northeast Siberia because paucity allometric equations physical properties woody debris needed for quantifying aboveground pools from field surveys. Cajander larch (Larix cajanderi) biomass distribution, fire regime and post-fire recovery in northeastern Siberia
Climate change and land-use activities are increasing fire activity across much of the Siberian boreal forest, yet the climate feedbacks from forest disturbances remain difficult to quantify due to limited information on forest biomass distribution, disturbance regimes and post-disturbance ecosystem recovery. Our primary objective here was to analyse post-fire accumulation of Cajander larch (La...
متن کاملEstimating aboveground biomass of broadleaved woody plants in the understory of Florida Keys pine forests
Species-specific allometric equations that provide estimates of biomass from measured plant attributes are currently unavailable for shrubs common to South Florida pine rocklands, where fire plays an important part in shaping the structure and function of ecosystems. We developed equations to estimate total aboveground biomass and fine fuel of 10 common hardwood species in the shrub layer of pi...
متن کاملDetermine the most suitable Allometric equations for Estimating Above-ground Biomass of the Juniperus excelsa
Today, modeling and determination of allometric equations of forest trees, especially Junipers trees, are very important for determination of biological status and carbon storage capacity of forest species. The aim of this study was to determine the most suitable allometric equations for estimating the biomass of leaf, sub branch, main branch, trunk, and biomass of total Juniperus excelsa tr...

A Comparison of Hierarchical and Non-Hierarchical Bayesian Approaches for Fitting Allometric Larch (Larix.spp.) Biomass Equations
Accurate biomass estimations are important for assessing and monitoring forest carbon storage. Bayesian theory has been widely applied to tree biomass models. Recently, a hierarchical Bayesian approach has received increasing attention for improving biomass models. In this study, tree biomass data were obtained by sampling 310 trees from 209 permanent sample plots from larch plantations in six ...
